Princess Royal Sailing Club was formed on the 24th of February 1909 by Frank Dymes. The club's first meeting was held at the Royal George Hotel on Stirling Terrace, and Club races were then conducted from the Albany Town jetty. During the 50's, the Shire of Albany granted the Sailing Club a lease of land at Pagoda Point in Little Grove. This is the present day site of the Princess Royal Sailing Club, which over the past 50 years has continued to grow with large clubrooms and a substantial marina. It forms part of the proud maritime history of the City of Albany.
