This cache is situated roughly 50km from Walvis Bay in the Namib Naukluft Park, therefore a permit is required. Great views and interesting walks around the rock formations make for a convenient quick trip not too far from town. Not much shade is provided for but rock overhangs create some shelter from the heat of the day. Camping facilities are available.
Before venturing into the cache area it is important that one is in possession of a valid permit. Such permits can be obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism - 643 Heinrich Bauman Str. Walvis Bay or Cnr. Bismark Str. and Sam Nujoma Ave. Swakopmund. (please note that a small fee is charged) The cache is located roughly halfway up the higher of the two mountains so a bit of a hike is necessary. For the brave offroader there is a faint 4x4 track that leads to the top of the mountain. On a clear day the views from on top are quite a sight. To the west the Hamilton Mountain range and Walvis Bay in the distant background. To the south the dunes bordering the Kuiseb River and to the east and north the vast landscape of the Namib Desert.
