Geocache Description:

This should be a pretty quick cache and dash, but please watch out for Muggles!!

Mission San Diego is an active historical site and Catholic church, so you'll want to keep the schedule of Masses in mind before you set off on your hunt. In other words, Sunday morning is a particularly busy time! I hope you'll also take time to explore the grounds while you're searching. The cache is now a camo'd pill keychain hanging in a tree just behind the statue and wooden cross. You can reach it from a walkway that goes just in front of the statue. Mission San Diego De Alcala was the first Franciscan mission in what is now the state of California, founded in 1769. You can read more about the history on the website here: http://www.missionsandiego.org/. As a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West (NDGW), I wanted to encourage visiting the wonderful historical sites of California. NDGW is a fraternal and patriotic organization made up of California born women who are interested in promoting the welfare of our state. To read more about our sisterhood, please visit http://www.ndgw.org.
