The Alps 2 Ocean cycleway links Mount Cook (Alps) to the Ocean at Oamaru.
For over 300 km visitors can experience some of the most beautiful scenery New Zealand has to offer. Suitable for all ages, the trail is an easy grade, and offers a pleasing mix of on and off-road trails which link the Southern Alps to the Pacific Ocean. Allow 4-6 days for the entire ride, or simply try out a section on a day excursion. Whichever option you choose, the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is sure to be a memorable experience.
This series of 12 caches will take off road along the Karara Creek in the Island Cliff region. The track is well formed and metaled and suitable for walking or cycling. Parking coordinates are given for both ends of the section for those who wish to explore this 5 km segment of the A2O trail.
