Join your fellow geocachers from around the state for GGA's annual Chili Cook-off! Bring a pot of your favorite chili to share, and we'll judge the winners!
The event will begin at 2:00 pm, but you can start setting up and heating your chili at 1:00 pm. The Group Shelter at ISSP is an enclosed indoor facility.
You do not need to bring chili to attend, but the more the merrier! If you choose to compete, your chili should be ready to eat by 2:15 pm. PLEASE BRING A CHILI SERVING UTENSIL. Bowls, eating utensils, cheese, and saltine crackers will be provided by GGA. Electrical outlets will be available for chili pots, but we ask that you please bring an extension cord or power bar.
Chili check-in will be from 1:45 pm to 2:15 pm. The judges will NOT know who brought which entry, as they will be isolated during the check-in process.
NOTE: Please be prepared to list any unique ingredients, for the safety of those with specific food allergies. Such ingredients might include: peanuts, chocolate, shellfish, seafood, honey, MSG, etc.
JUDGING CATEGORIES:
TRADITIONAL CHILI (i.e. red, tomato-based, etc.)
NON-TRADITIONAL CHILI (i.e. white, verde, etc.)
Also, you are encouraged to create a fun and festive display at your table, to go along with your chili entry. The PEOPLES' CHOICE AWARD will be voted on by all attendees for "BEST PRESENTATION!" So make sure you arrive early enough to set-up your table display. We have some great prizes for all the winners this year!
We can't wait to see everyone on Valentine's Day ... WE LOVE CHILI!
