Geocache Description:

ENGLISH
-----------
The cache is near the border of San Ángel and the town of Tizapán. The cache is on San Ángel's side, but if you cross Frontera street you will notice that the signal posts now refer to Tizapán town. As in many places inside the big DF, Tizapan ("on the chalk") was once a town separated from the city and even from San Ángel. Tizapan was inhabited by the Mexicas and evangelized by the Dominicians during the XVI century. The Dominicians built San Jacinto's ermit, in San Ángel and started a system of spinnings using the waterfalls that used to exist in the area. This activity evolved into secular textile factories during the XVIII and XIX centuries. In this way, San Ángel and Tizapán have been economically and politically related, but despite their geographical proximity their border is still noticeable: San Angel has the large elegant houses of a rich neighborhood, whilst San Angel shows the smaller houses of the working class.
