3.14159 Watch Your Pi Day! Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

BabyRuthie: Thanks for everyone who was able to come out. A huge thanks to SnowbirdsVT for taking over this event. In my old age I forgot I had already made plans and had arrangements to be in Jacksonville that weekend for the Moonshine Run as well as for work. They stepped right up though to help out so this event could take place!

Geocache Description:

March 14 is National Pi Day...so why not have a breakfast meet & greet! We will meet on 3/14/15 at 9:00 am!  Please make sure to log your "will attend" if you planning on making it for breakfast so I can give them an accurate head count!

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.

Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits.
