La estación de San Miguel (1921-1977) prestaba servicio al núcleo de Son Carrió —en el municipio de San Lorenzo de Cardessar— y era la estación más pequeña de la isla (77 m²). Por cuestiones políticas, se le dio el nombre de «San Miguel», santo patrón de la zona. No obstante, dicho nombre nunca llegó a cuajar entre los usuarios del ferrocarril.
La estación fue la única que se vio inmersa en la acción bélica durante la Guerra Civil Española (1936-1939); tras el desembarco de Mallorca en verano de 1936, las tropas republicanas la ocuparon y tapiaron un túnel ferroviario próximo. Finalmente, el 4 de septiembre de ese año los republicanos abandonaron la isla tras la presión ejercida por el bando sublevado y al día siguiente se restableció el tráfico.
En el año 2009 se iniciaron las obras para reabrir el tramo entre las estaciones de Manacor y Artá, y, aunque se reformó por completo la estación, las obras ferroviarias fueron detenidas en 2011.
En la actualidad, existe una vía verde en el lugar donde hubieran ido las vías del tren.
The railway station of San Miguel (1921-1977) served the village of Son Carrió - in the municipality of San Lorenzo de Cardessar - and was the smallest station on the island (77 m²). For political reasons, it was given the name "San Miguel", the patron saint of the area. However, the name wasn't popular between train users.
The station was the only one which was immersed in military action during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939); after the landing of Mallorca in the summer of 1936, the Republican troops occupied it and bricked up a nearby railway tunnel. Finally, on September 4 of that year, the Republicans left the island after the advanced of the other side and the next day the traffic was restored.
In 2009, works to reopen the section between the stations of Manacor and Arta began, and although the station was completely renovated, the railway works were detained in 2011.
Nowadays, there is a greenway in the place where the railroad tracks were supposed to be.
