Geocache Description:

COG Celebrates 15 Years of Geocaching

It all began at midnight on the second of May...


President Clinton flipped a switch, Dave Ulmer hid a bucket and the rest is history!



At midnight on May 2nd 2000, new directives were transmitted to twenty-four satellites orbiting the planet. Instantly, tens of thousands of GPS devices across the world received an instant upgrade.

On May 3rd 2000, Mr. Dave Ulmer placed a black bucket in the woods near Beaver Creek, Oregon.
Along with a logbook and pencil he left a few trade items. He shared the waypoint of his "stash" with the online community on the sci.geo.satellite-nav internet newsgroup. Hours later, the FTF was invented.

This event will begin at 11:30AM and end at 1:30PM
 Colonel Mustard's, Yonge Street, Newmarket

There will be a few prizes handed out (things that are trackable... as well as a few things that are not!).
There will also be time put aside for a Reviewer Q&A... so be sure to bring along your questions!
We typically reserve 40-50 seats at the event location
