Geocache Description:

This will be an on-going series of caches in spots that just looked like they needed to have a cache in them. No particular reason, but hopefully this will be varied and contain some normal and some unusual objects for your enjoyment.

The published co-ordinates will take you to a curious ruins which I did not know existed until I found them whilst walking from Bexhill to Bulverhythe. This is in fact the site of St Mary's Chapel and, despite its incongruous suburban surroundings, is one of the key historical relics of Hastings from Norman and even Saxon times.

The church's last known priest was William Tracy in 1452 and little is known about the church until excavations on the site made by Mr T Ross in 1861. It is known that those who drowned in the Amsterdam disaster in 1749 were buried in the then-ruined church's graveyard.

At the site you will discover a plaque detailing information about the Chapel. On this plaque there are two numbers "ABC" and "DE". The co-ordinates for the cache which is located outside of these grounds can be found by calculating the following :-

N50 50.(D*E)(A)(A+B+C+D+E)

E000 30.(E+C)("ABC" - "D")

Please replace as found.

Good Luck and have fun.

Congratulations to ??? for FTF
