This location was the site for a proposed development with houses and private launches in 1987. It was to be called Egret Bay - but it was defeated and was never built
I love that places like this help keep us happy and healthy in all ways. I will always remember it the way I saw it on my first visit here - filled with Egrets!
Tidal wetlands are being restored and this pond was recently formed (1/6/15) when a levee was breached after a nice ceremony. I went for a walk on the trail here and saw more egrets all together than I've ever seen before, by a large measure. There were LOTS of birds; Terns, Bonaparte Gulls.
