How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Pack your wood or charcoal whichever you prefer, remember your grid and lighter. Fill the cooler box with some refreshments, boerewors and buns. Once at the parking waypoint light the fire, only once the fire is burning take a leiserly stroll to the cache, go through your rituals, and after go enjoy the rest of your day with a boerie right next to the sea.

The drive here looks worst than it is and can be done by sedan, if driving carefully.

Please note that one is not allowed to overnight here allthough over most weekends you are sure to see a tent and even caravans standing scattered along this piece of shoreline.  The braai areas do not belong to anyone and can be used by one and all.  Here and there you may see some remnants of previous campers as the area use to be used as a camping area. Good geocachers will leave the area looking better compared to how they found it. Please dont contribute to the decline.

Be sure not to miss the two nearby caches if you dont already have it.  See "SS: Lisboa - GC2DTJE "  and "SS: Malmesbury - GC2DTJV "

The container is big enough for some trade, but please bring your own pen.

...Minimize My and Others' Impact on the Environment

  • Follow Leave No Trace ethics whenever possible.
  • When seeking a cache, practice "Lift, Look, Replace" - put all stones or logs back where you found them. Leave the area as you found it or better (e.g. pick up litter).
Join us at Cape Town 2016, the biggest Geocaching Event the Mother City has ever seen. We need as many Will Attend logs as possible to make it MEGANORMOUS.
