The Walnut Creek Lake & Recreation Area opened for public recreation on March 1, 1999. The area was maintained by the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District (NRD) until October 1, 2007, when the City of Papillion took over maintenance of the area. The park is open year-round from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily and is a pack-in/pack-out facility.

Added 10/29/2015: After going missing for the third time, I relocated the cache to a more secure area today.
Added 11/14/2015: Although not the FTF for the original cache, congratulations to Darick for being the first person to find the cache in its new location.
