Victoria has a fire fighting fleet of in excess 40 aircraft, both fixed wing and helicopters. Mansfield is just one of several bases for these craft.

Bell 206L-3 (VH-NPI)
The Bell 206 was originally designed in the early 1960's and first released in 1967, this variant of the twin blade single engine helicopter was manufactured in 1986. This utility helicopter is powered by an Allison Turboshaft Gas Turbine engine that runs on kerosine.

Manufactured by Air tractor in the United States, powered by Pratt & Witney turboprop.

Operated by McDermott Aviation for the NSW Rural Fire Service the Bell 214B can carry 3000 lb of water together with 12 passengers.

Kawasaki BK117 B-2 (VH-VRP)
Built in 1990 the Kawasaki BK117 B-2 operated by the NSW Rural Fire Service is powered by a Textron Lycoming Turboshaft engine that runs on kerosine. the twin engined medium duty utility helicopter was a joint development between Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) of Germany and Kawasaki of Japan and later became part of Eurocopter.
