"Hot Dogs, Jumping Frogs" sums up the many happy days we have spent at Burrs County Park walking our dog and searching for frogs etc
Burrs Country Park lies on the River Irwell one mile north west of Bury town centre. The park, which holds a Green Flag Award, is a great place to visit, an ideal spot for a range of activities including walking, fishing, picnicking, bird watching, nature study, contemporary art and with the nostalgic East Lancashire Steam Railway passing by. The park owes part of its existence to Bury's industrial past, as one of Bury's first mill sites many remnants of which still exist today.
Facilities include: Outdoor pursuits, playground, industrial archaeology, picnic tables, visitor centre and cafe (open weekends and school holidays), fishing and free car park. Caravan site and a very old pub.
