The Federal highway links Canberra to the Hume Highway near Goulburn. It was completed in 1931 and sealed in 1936. From the mid 1980s through the 90's the road was gradually upgraded to a dual carriageway. Several sections of the old road still exist and make an interesting diversion from the current highway. This series of caches show a few places along the way.
The old road comes from Eaglehawk to the southwest and crosses this creek. Just past GZ (towards Goulburn), the road appears (looking at the lines) to veer back to the other side of the current highway.
