The Federal highway links Canberra to the Hume Highway near Goulburn. It was completed in 1931 and sealed in 1936. From the mid 1980s through the 90's the road was gradually upgraded to a dual carriageway. Several sections of the old road still exist and make an interesting diversion from the current highway. This series of caches show a few places along the way.
The road passes some old pine trees on a corner. The road passes close to the rest areas on the new highway.
Keep an eye out for the old railway carriage on a property to the south.
