The Federal highway links Canberra to the Hume Highway near Goulburn. It was completed in 1931 and sealed in 1936. From the mid 1980s through the 90's the road was gradually upgraded to a dual carriageway. Several sections of the old road still exist and make an interesting diversion from the current highway. This series of caches show a few places along the way.
A nice shady creek crossing, but unfortunately it is best known as an accident black spot. Imagining trucks on that bend you can see why.
There appears to be the ruin of a service station to the north of here. I'd be interested if someone had information on it.
