Geocache Description:


Hatonomori-Hachiman Shrine is about five minutes on foot to Sendagaya Station.
Once upon a time, white clouds descended to the forest, and white pigeons flew off. This shrine was built at that spot, and was named Hatonomori (pigeon's forest).

At this shrine, there's the oldest Fuji-zuka in Tokyo, an artificial mountain or mound imitating Mt. Fuji.
And also there's shogi-do hall constructed by Japan Shogi Association. It has a large Osho (king) piece, and it's one of the holy places of Shogi players.
Near the main hall, there is also a big Noh Stage.

鳩森八幡神社は、JR千駄ヶ谷駅から徒歩5分ほどの場所にあります。
かつてこの地の林に白雲が降り、その場所から白い鳩が飛んでいったことから、「鳩の森」と名付けられました。

この神社には、都内最古の富士塚があり、富士山の奇岩や奥宮が細かく再現されています。
また、近くにある将棋会館によって、巨大な王将を祀った将棋堂が奉納されており、棋士の聖地となっています。
本堂の近くには、大きな能舞台もあります。

キャッシュにはペンが入っておりませんので、筆記具をお持ちください。
