Geocache Description:

This cache is in the same spot, but time has made it a tougher find.  I didn't replace the log.  The first to sign in 2015 is the FTF.

This is part of a series of presidential caches.

These caches will come in a variety of sizes, difficulties and terrains. They will be placed all across the area. Hopefully everyone will enjoy finding them.

Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) was the 36th president of the United states. He was born on August 27, 1908 in Texas, and died on January 22, 1973 of a massive heart attack. He became president on November 22, 1963 when John Kennedy was assassinated. He remained in office until January 20, 1969. He ran for his own presidential term in 1964 and won. He decided not to run in 1968, largely because of the difficulties in dealing with the Vietnam War.

Lyndon Johnson had two major accomplishments during his tenure as president. In 1964 he convinced congress to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This act outlawed most forms of racial segregation. As a follow up to this act, in 1965 the Voting Rights Act was passed. This act outlawed voting discrimination. Millions of southern blacks were allowed to vote for the first time due to this act. In addition to his civil rights accomplishments, LBJ established the Medicare and Medicaid programs in July of 1965 providing low cost medical care to the elderly.

As always, since this is a cemetery cache... NO NIGHT CACHING!
