A regular sized geocache located in a remote but accessible spot in the spectacular Southern Alps.
The container is waterproof if closed properly, so please make sure you push the lid down hard and "click" it down all the way around the top. It would help if you could also make sure the inside of the lid and the rim of the container are clean before you close it, to ensure it remains waterproof.

The Sourthern Alps are aptly named. In many places in the South Island I am reminded of the mountains and passes of Switzerland - in the Alps - particularly Valais, where I found my highest cache find so far (at 3885 metres, Klein Matterhorn). We are very lucky in New Zealand to have Paradise right on our doorstep - well, actually, Paradise is a few km southwest of here, but who's counting?
You won't have to ascend to any lofty heights to find this geocache, however, just drive to the end of Rees Valley Rd, park in the car park at Muddy Creek and walk the remaining 100 metres or so to the cache. If you have a 4WD you can drive further but please take heed of the posted instructions on the signs as to where you are allowed to drive.
You should be able to reach this cache by 2WD vehicle most of the year. There are a number of fords to cross and the road is skinny and gravel, so please take care.
This is a stunningly beautiful and peaceful area so spend some time, take a picnic. The water is crystal clear flowing straight off the sides of mountains - take a dip, fill your watter bottle, enjoy!

Cache is hidden in a pile of stones. No need to disassemble the pile, just lift the lid to access the cache. If necessary, there are more stones nearby if the cache's "house" needs repairs at any time.
