Geocache Description:

The shrine at the Unawatuna beach, the abode of the “Devol Deiyo” – an interesting dual purpose god. Here you can turn to him to both bless you and help you or to curse your enemies and correct what you perceive to be wrong.

The place offers a fantastic view over an open Indian ocean (next stop Antarctica) and the sunsets here are just breathtaking.

You can learn more about the 700 year's history of the temple, the buddhism and the legend of the arrival of Welle Dewale from India from the local monks and the custodian.

The cache is accessible all year long but take a torch with you if going there in the darkness or later after the sunset - the light goes away very  quickly after the sunset.

The cache is placed in the outer surrounding wall of the temple and can be reached easily from the temple or from the Blow Hole restaurant steps leading to the sunset point terrace. No need to enter the temple if you can't or don't wish to do so (e.g. if not wearing suitable clothes arriving from the beach).

If you wish to visit the temple itself, please wear suitable clothes (long sleeves or a scarf around your shoulders and trousers/skirt covering your knees - no swimming dress allowed!)
