This is my very first geocache placement. I first heard about geocaching via my involement in bookcrossing and thought the two compliment each other nicely. So this is a large ammo container with lots of room for books and swaps and is an offical bookcrossing zone. Bookcrossing is very similar to using trackables, except instead of a bug or coin, you are tracking books. They can be left in other geocaches, in offocial bookcrossing zones, or just in random places you think someone might find a book. Learn more about bookcrossing at www.bookcrossing.com
The location of this cache is inspired by 'Northside Bookcrossing' and 'Isaacs Library (BookCrossing)' (Canberra seems to have a bookcrossing caches on the northside and southside, but nothing central.
This can be found while walking on a dirt track as part of a journey round the lake, while visiting other geocaches around the National Museum, or as a relatively quick park and pick up.
Please register books at bookcrossing.com before placing in the ammo container. I have added some spare bookcrossing labels for people to use, some plastic bags to put books in and some extra info on bookcrossing. The initial swag includes 7 bookcrossing books, 1 pathtag, 1 travelbug, a First to Find memento and some random swaps.
When you take a book (or books) please go to bookcrossing.com to make a journal for that book so we can track its journey
You dont have to put a book in to take one out, and once you're done with the book, you're free to release it as you see fit and log your release on bookcrossing.com If the box is running low on books, post a note and I'll fill it up again :-)
Please make sure you replace the cammo to keep it hidden
