Boyds, Maryland known as Home in the Country has some great historic spots that can be visited. There is the old historic 1 room school house about 1 mile from here. There also is the Hoyles Mills Conservation Park that has some trails that lead through Germantown and Boyds.
I stumbled up this structure and saw there was no geocache here and thought it was really cool. It appears there was something historic built here years ago. I actually found an old geocache container that was placed in a tree looking for a hiding spot for this one. It didn't have any contents but had a CITO tag on it. As far as what can be seen here it obviously had a fireplace at one time and the architecture of what remains was built to last. If anyone knows the history of this place elaborate more in your log. I placed parking coordinates to the best place I could find to park. Please place the cache back as found and respect this area.
