Geocache Description:

A traditional cache in the picturesque bush of the You Yangs Regional Park

The You Yangs Regional Park is a series of distinctive granite peaks that rise from the surrounding flat volcanic plains between Melbourne and Geelong. Amongst the scrubby bushland live a diverse array of animals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. The park is popular for its numerous bushwalks, mountain bike trails, scenic drives and rock climbing opportunities. You can even bring your dog as long as he stays on his lead.

The Lower Picnic Area offers the visitor the opportunity to have a bbq or picnic, or merely a well earned cup of coffee, whilst enjoying the surrounding bush serenity. Thus, this cache is the first of six that radiate out from, and surround, the central picnic tables/bbq area of this particular picnic area. You can access the cache by parking in the appropriate picnic parking area and then making the short, easy walk to the cache or by parking on the side of the road very near the cache.

As this picnic area is widely used by muggles, especially children exploring the many and varied small rock clusters in this area, this cache is deliberately tricky so as not to be found by accident.

You are looking for a medium sized, clip lock container, that has been spray painted to blend in with the surroundings. It contains several trades and a log book but please bring your own pen. You may also like to wear gloves. Please also rehide carefully. Hope you enjoy the cache.
