Oaks Among Palms Traditional Cache

Hunting Island State Park is truly a jewel of the South Carolina low country. As you navigate to this cache, and others in the area, take in the natural beauty. Be sure to visit the lighthouse, nature center and take the time to hike the trail that runs alongside the lagoon. 

This is our families first hidden geocache. All five of us selected this location as it is one of our favorite areas on the island. This area is peaceful, scenic and somewhat off the beaten path. We found the area after a stromy night while on our annual camping trip. The sunlight seemed to beam down in this one particualr area in the morning and we decided this was a beautiful place to share with everyone. Several beautiful oaks reside among the various types of native palms in this particular area.
