Geocache Description:

This cache is on The Meigle Circular, a popular walk around Meigle Hill, between Galashiels and Clovenfords. It takes in a visit to a cemetery for local pets.

The Meigle View Pet Rest is a lovely little cemetery set up steps on the uphill side of the track. It has many headstones and memorials for much-missed pets as well as a bench to sit in peace and a small shelter in case the weather turns nasty. It is well kept but has suffered vandalism at times. Take a look round the cemetery but please respect it.

The cache is nearby but is NOT IN the cemetery so please don't disturb any of the memorials. Just enjoy.

Congratulations to cloventrout for FTF with apologies for him having to try twice due to my original duff co-ordinates!

Inventory when Placed

Dan's The Man geocoin, Ring, 2 wooden ladybirds, mini krab, log book and pencil.

Access

It can be accessed from several points but I have included the closest to the cache.

The closest is from Clovenfords, following a track up from a farm on the Galashiels side of the village. This comes to the Meigle Circular signpost.

If you want to start from Galashiels, the nearest access to the town centre is by starting up a steep, wooden staircase, known as the kangaroo steps. At the top, cross the road and continue up to Manse Place/Street then continue with the third option.

If a steep climb is not ideal, and a car is available, you can drive up from town via Hall Street then turn right up Manse Street. The walking route carries stright on past the waterworks to join the Circular.
