[Byvåben]

DK
Gl.

Rye
- De 7 åkander symboliserer de 7 søer: Julsø, Mossø, Salten Langsø, Gudensø, Vessø, Birksø og Ry Møllesø

EN
Gl. Rye was in the middle Ages one of the important towns in the area. This was primary due to the holy spring and Øm Monestary. This had imprinted the town and is reflected in the City Arms that today is found at different places around the village.

The elements in the City Arms:
- The monogram of King Christian the 3th symbolize his election as king at Sankt Sørens (Gl. Rye) church on July 4. 1534. - The Crosier symbolize the nearby Øm Monestary that had significant importance for Gl. Rye - The 7 Water Lilies symbolize the 7 nearby lakes: Julsø, Mossø, Salten Langsø, Gudensø, Vessø, Birksø og Ry Møllesø.
