A regular cache along a short nature trail in the Big Bend Recreation Area.
This cache is located in the Big Bend Recreation Area near the Allegheny Reservoir and is designed to help you learn a little bit more about the trails and other recreation facilities that you may not be aware of. The cache is placed with permission of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The trail and hike is very easy if you come in from the Big Bend Visitor Center Parking Area at the bottom of the hill. I do not recommend trying to access this cache directly from Route 59 as there is no safe parking space there and the hill down to the cache is very steep and possibly dangerous. The walk is actually shorter, easier, and safer if you park in the visitor center parking lot next to the River downstream from the dam.
