Geocache Description:

BYOP. You will have to enter the cemetery to obtain the container but you won't have to cross any gravestones. If the gate is closed you can park at the gate and walk back to the cache location, about 150' across fairly level terrain. Cache is winter-friendly. Please do not attempt this cache at night. Feel free to explore the grounds but please respect the property.

NOTE - the road from US 30 to this cemetery is a LEVEL B road, meaning it is at least partially dirt and practically impassable certain times during the year. To access this from US 30, please use the gravel road one mile WEST (which is 11th Ave. Drive) then 74th St. OR State Highway 21 one mile to the EAST and then take 74th St.

Irving Cemetery is located in the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 31 in Kane Township, Benton County, Iowa. It serves as the primary burial grounds for the small village of Irving, which sets one mile to the west of the Cemetery along State Highway 21. The cemetery contains many very old and unreadable stones but also has many recent burials. It is well-kept during the summer months.
