The Brush Creek Mill sits on the site of previous Mills with the original Grist Mill built during the 1880's and served local area farmers for over 70 years.
About 100 years later, the original building fell into disrepair and was torn down. And after several years, the property was acquired by the Village of Hillman. Late in 2003, construction began on the existing building.
Currently, the Brush Creek Mill serves several purposes ranging from Museum, Gift Shop and Community Center. The Mill also houses the Hillman Area Chamber of Commerce and the Hillman Area Historical Society.
The Mill is also a "Green Space". Built and insulated to be as airtight as possible, it also has 60 solar panels along with a 22' stainless steel water wheel that drives both an alternator and the large grinding stones. There are future plans for geo-thermal heating/cooling system.
No purchase needed, but feel free to stop in if they're open. Don't bother asking the people inside about the cache. They only know of the cache's existence, but don't have a clue as to where it is.
