Alfred Gnobel, the founder of the Gnobel Prize to be awarded to any Gnome on an annual basis without distinction of Gnationality.
The Ancient Golympics where 1st held in Golympia in 15 Y.O.G. (Y.O.G. - Year of the Gnome) following the Great Gnome tragedy in which many gnomes were hurt, known as The Great Y.O.G. - Hurt. The Ancient Golympics predated modern activities such as wellie throwing and wheelbarrow racing but were the origin of the ancient sports of fishing and toadstool sitting. The exact date that the Ancient Golympics ceased due to GNOMEAGEDDON and the hostile relationship between the warring fractions. Today, exactly one week before the summer solstice in the year 1015 Y.O.G. on the 1000th anniversary of the first Golympics the Games are being held again to renew friendship and peace across all Gnome Realms. This is a short series of caches by Gnomes of unknown origin and their woodland friends to celebrate the beginning of a new era where peace and harmony will reign throughout all Gnome Realms.
