Questa costruzione trova origine nel passato dei nostri avi come protezione di una fonte d'acqua di profondità che sgorga su tutta la durata dell'anno. Anche quando la altre fonti, in periodi di siccità cessavano di erogare, seppur in quantità decisamente ridotta da questo tipo di fonti il l' afflusso d'acqua era contiuo.
Lo scopo è quello oltre a protegere la fonte, di creare un locale temperato al punto giusto per conservarvi i derivati della vita contadina, in questo luogo veniva principalmente depositato il latte allo scopo di far salire in superfice la panna da utilizzare poi per produrre il burro.
"A causa dell'alto tasso d'umidità al momento della costruzione veniva sviluppato un sistema di vantilazione mediante alcuni piccoli pertugi nei muri collocati in linea retta tra le pareti opposte. In questa specifica costruzione si possono notare sei pertugi tutt'ora presenti."
ATTENZIONE: per trovare la cache non si deve spostare nessun sasso, lei è li che vi guarda se saprete guardare nel giusto pertugio :)
