Nicolae Valter Mărăcineanu (May 30, 1840 — September 11, 1877) was a Romanian soldier who died in the Russo-Turkish War (1877–78), following which Romania, fighting on the Russian side, gained independence from the Ottoman Empire. He lost his life during the assault against the Grivitsa I redoubt of the defensive works of the Pleven fortifications.
