Be a part of the exclusive Volunteer In the Park (VIP) club while enjoying the scenic beauty of one of America's premier National Parks for a weekend of camping, cookouts, caching (OK, it's Virtual and Earthcaching Only& a couple WherIgos), and a day of moderate manual labor.

That's right. 3days 2nights in BEAUTIFUL YOSEMITE Along with the camp sites, participants will also have the use of a free park pass for the weekend of the Event. So what's the catch? In exchange for the camp sites and the park pass, you will be asked to spend one day performing some menial labor(cleaning Firepits)Easy to help make Yosemite a nicer place for everyone.
Where:

We will be in White Wolf campground Tent
and RV Camping. Each campsite contains a fire ring, picnic table, and food locker [33"(D)x45"(W)x18"(H)], and is near a bathroom with potable water and flushing toilets.

When:
You can arrive as early as July 24 (Friday). The work part of this Event will take place on Sunday. Plan on some hot and dirty work. Dress appropriately, and bring lots of water, some food and Clothes you can get dirty. You will be at +8000ft it can get cool at night and warm in the day.

What: Stooping, bending and picking up stuff will be involved, but there is usually ample opportunity for breaks to hydrate or answer the call of nature.


Bear
Facts:
Yosemite has a bear problem. No doubt about it. All campsites in Yosemite are equipped with large metal boxes for food storage. You will be warned at the entrance station that ALL food must go in these boxes. Bears can make pretty easy work of just about every model of car. Don't take any chances; use the boxes.
Equipment:
The Park Service will provide all the tools necessary for the project. You'll be responsible for getting yourself to the worksite, all your camping necessities, and food.

On the Tioga Road (Highway 120) about one hour north of Yosemite Valley Elevation: 8,000 ft (2,400 m) Open: July through late September (approximately); Cost: $14/night for each campsite (maximum 6 people per site). Number of sites: 74. RV length: up to 27 ft (no RVs in group sites) Trailer length: up to 24 ft (no trailers in group sites) Dump station: Yosemite Valley (Upper Pines Campground) or Tuolumne Meadows Campground.
