Australia Day 2015 and we are camping at Maitland for the weekend. It's also our second Anniversay of Geocaching. We found our first cache 'Where is Oz Mega 2014 - Nuriootpa' on 26th January 2013. From then on....well, we were hooked. In our first year we found 643, In our second year we found 920. A bit better effort, but more importantly we have also met some really great people and had some awesome adventures.
We picked this location for our Anniversary Cache, as our first choice at the showgrounds where we were staying already had a cache in place and was too close, so we chose here instead. In fact I think its a better location, and at first I thought it was on the edge of the local golf course...turns out that its in the middle of the golf course! This nice neat scrapes course pretty much surrounds the town, crossing multiple roads to get from 'green' to tee!. Quite unique I think, and it explains why I was getting confused with my bearings (which isn't hard to do I might add!), as I kept seeing fairways and scrapes, and thought I was going in circles!! The cache is a small Groundspeak sistema with the usual log, pencils and some small swaps. Please use stealth and replace the camo as found. Even though this should be an easy find, I have upped the Difficulty level to 2 as at certain times of certain days there could be golfers coming from all directions, let alone cars and pedestrians on the road and paths!!
