Pi Day Flash Mob Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

peace love pi: Well, how much fun was that? Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Super Pi Day. It was a great turnout and I was so impressed by the winner of the Pi digit memorization contest - he got over 20 digits correct!

Given current advances in nanotechnology we may just be able to do this for Super Pi Day 2115 :-)

Geocache Description:

Unless you are 100 years old, this will be the only time in your lifetime that you will be able to celebrate the occurrence of the first 10 digits of Pi 3.141592653.

Join us at

The Grand Traverse Pi Company on 3/14/15 at 9:26:53 a.m.

to celebrate this auspicious occassion.

In October 2006, Akira Haraguchi recited Pi up to 100,000 digits. This was done at a Tokyo event where he spent 16.5 hours reciting number after number after number (stopping every few hours to eat delicious onigiri to keep his mind and body in shape). In honor of Mr. Haraguchi's accomplishment a prize will be given to the person who can recite the most digits of Pi. You will have to beat mrs.doyle's 101 digits.

Flashmob picture will be taken at 9:35 a.m.

Stick around and enjoy some Pi.
