Please make sure you complete the challenge BEFORE you log this cache as a find.
This cache is at the coordinates listed, and you can sign the log prior to completing the challenge. BUT you cannot successfully log this cache as a find until you have completed the challenge requirements!
We will check your Geocaching Profile to verify you qualify for this challenge, so no need to list any caches found. This one is a simple check and one that many watch closely.
While we are sure there will be a debate on when you're no longer a newbie, we thought 1000 would be a good number for sure. Once you have found that many caches you have a good sense for the hobby/sport/activity/lifestyle/ addiction (for some) that you have a good grasp of it. So here's to you! Come log this cache if you qualify and hold your head high!
Please remember if hiking to take lots of water and bug spray, and don’t confuse the two!
When we picked up the last round of caches there were several that the lids were NOT closed properly and/or the baggies were not sealed and water had ruined them. Please take the 10 seconds to close the baggy if there is one AND/OR close the container properly. What takes you 10 seconds to do, saves us from spending hours and $$$$ replacing swag, logs and containers.
IF the log is wet and you have a replacement, please feel free to add it, even if it is one sheet of paper. Thanks for your help in advance!
To get to this cache you have a few options:
- You can go straight up power line road, but I don’t advise this as there is a water crossing that is fairly wide and deep. Some have made it across okay, but I doubt they would do it again.
- You can take the power line road to the hiking trail turn off (Fun Run) to the South and follow it around to the horse trail and take that back North to the power line again.
- You can bike/hike from Ranch House Road up around Bee Island and back down to this cache on the power line road.
- Or you can park at SR 72 Power Line Road (after you pay for park entrance fees, and get parking pass) and come up that and back around to the left on the power line road.
