Who's ready for another fun day at Boyd Pond Park?
This year we will be at shelter #4, located adjacent to the soccer field. The area is pretty open and has restrooms nearby.
Please come out and join us in the park for a day of fun and activities.
We will be providing hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone. We are asking that everyone bring a side dish. Some ideas for side dishes include baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, potato chips, drinks and desserts. In your "will attend" log, please note what you plan to bring, along with the number of adults and children attending in your party. We will periodically update the cache page so everyone can easily see what is being brought and by whom.
We have lots of activities planned for the day - including a 3-legged race, potato sack race, "Clue" style mystery game and "Family Feud" style games.
The food will be served later in the afternoon, so please plan accordingly, particularly for items that need to be kept cool.
We'll start the day around 1 PM. We'll hang around until 6:30 PM or until the last person decides to leave. We do have to vacate the park before dark though!
Here is a general outline of the days activities
- 1-2 - Meet, greet, Clue mystery game
- 2-3 - Family Feud games
- 3-4 - Sack races, 3-legged races, Family Feud Finals, prepare food
- 5-6 - Food will be served
- 6-6:30 - prizes and announcements
Please post your "will attend" log by Thursday, April 16. That will allow us enough time to get the hot dogs and hamburgers. If you post after that day, we cannot guarantee we will have enough food.
Family Feud games will consist of 5 people per team. Please post your team names when logging your "Will Attend" or "Write Note" . All those who wish to play and are not part of a team will be placed on teams the day of the event. The cache page will be updated periodically displaying each team.
The park is located at 373 Boyd Pond Rd. Aiken, SC 29803
The park is 210 acres and has over 2 miles hiking/biking trails, 4 baseball fields, a 30 acre pond, an observatory and an RC track. The park is pet friendly.
