History: A date for 21st Century Infamy Mystery Cache
Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.
Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

>Look for a waterproof box, locked in place with a cable, covered in camo tape. Open the lock using the 3 digit date indicated by the title and description, then remove the retrainer strip. When done, make sure contents do not protrude to break the seal, replace the retainer strip and turn at least one dial after closing the lock.
This Puzzle of this Cache is easy, but the answer is needed to open the cache. In 1941, President Roosevelt addressed Congress, with a speech including "A Date Which Will Live in Infamy" concerning Dec.7. The events of that day completely changed history for the persons of my generation. In 2001 another attack was made on our nation. If 1,2,7 is 3 digits of the Pearl Harbor date, then you will need a similar sequence of numbers about the date of the 21st century attack that changed history for the current generation. After re-closing the cache, turn at least one dial of the lock so that it will not open without the correct sequence. Although the number killed in 2001 was greater than in Pearl Harbor, the changes in our everyday life, as much as they are, as yet doe not affect nearly everyone in their daily life as in WWII. For example, the nationwide speed limit was 35 MPH, and unless involved in essential industries, gasoline was limited to 4 gallons per week per automobile, and sometimes less. Ration coupons were limited, and needed to buy, for instance, sugar or meat. Pant cuffs were eliminated and even toilet paper was squashed down in packing boxes until the tubes were flattened, to reduce use of cardboard and fuel for shipping. ---- I have trimmed away the sticker vines near the access to the cache. For the First-to-Find is an FTF Pathtag to take, no trade needed.
