This Geocache has been placed at one of the entrances to the Strontian Community Woodland and helps to mark the start of the Fairy road walk (where more of our caches can be found!). The community woodland walk is a circular walk and originated as part of a huge garden attached to Horsley Hall. This was a large Victorian Lodge house which once stood between GZ and the Loch. The Lodge was later changed into the Sunart hotel which then sadly burnt down at the end of the 1990's. There are many exotic trees in this woodland.
Parking can be found in the village centre next to the Tourist Office. A doggie and child friendly cache.
This is a small cache - only room for log and a teeny weeny pencil.
The Fairy road starts at the top of this woodland - you can go either way to reach it. We have named all our geocaches after dogs as the Hairy Spangle (spaniel) is an important if completely useless member of our team. Well done WA+MK for FTF x
