Geocache Description:

A bird hide overlooking a pretty lake in the Frenchman Bay area.

The Frenchman Bay area is well known for popular tourist attractions like Whale World, and stunning coastline like the beautiful Goode Beach. One of the lesser known places in the area is Vancouver Lake. In fact, most Albany locals have never heard of it, let alone been there; perhaps you're one of them. But in the last couple of years a wonderful bird hide was installed alongside this lake. This geocache will bring you to this great spot, where you can enjoy some of the more secluded natural beauty that the area has to offer. Maybe you'll even get to see some birds in the course of your visit.

To get here, take Frenchman Bay Rd almost to the very end, turning left onto Vancouver Rd towards Goode Beach. The trail for the Lake Vancouver Bird Hide is well sign-posted, and you can park along the road at the trailhead (coordinates for this waypoint are listed below if you need them). From here it's only a short walk along a clearly marked track to GZ.

Cache is a clear plastic 200ml sistema container. We have deliberately made it easy to find, because this cache is all about the location, and we placed it here to share another jewel of the rainbow coast, and to help bring other geocachers here to enjoy this wonderful spot.
