Geocache Description:

This is located on the 7.5 Mile Bike/Hike trail along the banks of Lake Marion in Santee State Park. Bring some tweezers and your instrument of writing to sign the log.

Santee State Park has a fee of $ 2.00 per person with discounts for seniors, military, and young adults. You will need to go to the rangers office or store to pay the fee. PLEASE, DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Park at the trail head at either cache #3 or #25.

The first half of the trail should be fairly easy to bike.  However, the second half may be a bit trickier due to the thick mat of leaves.  The beaten path is not as prominent as the first half and you need to follow the blue paint markings on the trees.  If you decide to walk the trail, it should take you about 5 – 6 hours depending on how long it takes you to find each cache. In the summertime be watchful of the creepy crawlers.

Use caution when removing log from host and be sure to replace as found.  If you find it on the ground, please put it back where it should be.  BYOP and it would be helpful if you had some tweezers to remove the log.  As always, CITO and if you enjoyed the trail, please leave a favorite point at the BONUS.  Please be sure to thank the park ranger and staff for allowing this trail to be placed.
