We have permission of the GL Conservancy to place a cache here. Property used to be an unofficial "rural waste site" but thanks to local volunteers, site was cleaned up and is now a great place for a walk, to birdwatch and appreciate nature. The Green Lake Conservancy preserves, protects and enhances the aesthetic, ecological and recreational qualities of places that make the greater Big Green Lake Watershed special.
There are two small "entrances" to the property, where you can drive in and park there. In the spring/summer/fall walking paths are mowed. All paths connect and loop. Take a walk through nature, discovering native prairie grasses, cottonwood and oaks. Visit the Silvercreek, on of Green Lake's main tributaries. Cache is not on the floor, nor hanging. Because the landscape changes with the season, visibility varies, but it's off the path. Wild parsnip grows in the area, but it is mowed and treated among the pathways A trail along Silvercreek is planned soon.
