Dippedy-Do-Dah Traditional Cache

This is a cache with splendid views across The Minch to Skye, near old sheep pens and by an ancient sheep dip. Take appropriate footwear for boggy ground!
This is one of a series of caches along the Road to Rua Reidh. About a mile past the hamlet of Melvaig, following the narrow singletrack road towards Rua Reidh you will see some old sheep pens, which have been well used over the decades. You will be able to imagine life in the past in this remote area of the Highlands. Walk up the hill through the sheep pens and a short distance further up the boggy and bracken filled hillside you will see an old sheep dip and possibly the remaining stones of an old bothy. The cache is near the sheep dip itself. Wise to take stout footwear, even wellies, as the ground can be very wet. In the midge season ( May - September) take the necessary midge spray with you! The views across the sea to Skye and the Outer Hebrides are stunning. Why not take a few minutes rest when you have (hopefully) found the cache- and take in the view. It is breathtaking! The FTF will have the chance to grab a great geocoin as a reward AND also instructions for how to receive your FTF Prize. Good luck!
