The 2015 installment of the Geocache Passport celebrates the forest preserves which were purchased between 1991 and 2015 . Collect 5 stickers from 8 participating caches hidden throughout DuPage County for a collectable Geocoin while supplies last. Passports will be available in the cache on a limited basis. The land for this preserve was already being purchased by the Wheaton Park District before the Forest Preserve District became involved and helped purchase additional property in 2003. This natural area features several habitats: wetlands, wet-mesic grasslands, mesic prairies, successional woodlands, and mature oak-hickory woodlands. These habitats are rich in plant and animal life. This park offers a wide variety of program opportunities year-round for all ages. It is also a great place to stay in shape while enjoying the unique sites of the landscape.
The cache you are looking for is a clear container. Please note that this preserve is open from dawn until dusk. Do not cross any fences or closed gates to access this cache. Administrative office hours are Monday – Friday, from 8am to 4pm. Phone number for the office is: 630-871-2810.
