The Orbison House Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

beatnik59: After the recent DNF's I stopped by to check on this one. Looks like a city grounds crew has chopped off it's little hiding spot. Going to archive this one.

Geocache Description:

I am a Traveling Wilburys fan, so this cache is a tribute to Roy Orbison.

Back in the late 70’s when I attended the North Texas State University (now University of North Texas) there was a multi -story house on the infamous Fry Street that everyone called “the Orbison House”.

Back in the 1950’s Roy Orbison attended NTSU and lived at the house on Fry Street where he wrote the song ‘Go-Go-Go’ and recorded his first hit ‘Ooby Dooby’ which was written by two fellow NTSU students.

The house stood vacant for many years before it was demolished.  Now there is a vacant lot with the only thing remaining is the concrete stair steps leading up from the street.

This cache is located along the sidewalk by the vacant lot and can be found without having to step off the sidewalk.  Lot’s of college muggles during week days strolling up and down the sidewalk so some stealth is required.
