SIR LANNIE AT SIXTY !!!


This series of caches has been placed to celebrate Sir Lannie reaching the milestone age of sixty. In those sixty years he has had numerous interests and pastimes. He has, or still is, a radio ham, a cyclist, an astronomer, a golfer, a magician, a caravanner, a fisherman, a DJ and finally a geocacher.

This cache relates to Sir Lannie as a Cyclist – you may have seen him in full cycling gear on the “Bike or Hike” series near Chester, or the LCT series on the canalside at Llangollen. Sir Lannie has a white Boardman bike, whilst Lady Lannie/Wasmiss usually has a tag along trailer for Ollie the geo-dog. We’ve had move than one comment when out cycling about the “Pampered Pooch!

Chris Boardman who won a cycling gold at the Barcelona Olympics is Wirral based. Whilst Sir Lannie was out cycling one day he passed a family and the child said “Look, it’s Chris Boardman”. I can see the resemblance, they both ride bikes, but that’s as far as it goes!
