This is a recently improved area in Independence Grove. The new trail is called the Casey Trail and connects to the Des Plaines River Trail to the east and continues all the way to Liberty Prairie Nature Preserve to the west. The trail uses a new boardwalk & bridge within Independence Grove and also a new tunnel to cross under Milwaukee Ave.
