Geocache Description:

Head up the small mutton lane on the way to Larch Hill you will find this nice spot hidden away! Geocachers will find: An old Courtyard off the laneway with a scenic view, refurbished cottage, picnic area and petting farm animals.

I placed this cache on the way to locating other caches in the general area. This is off the beaten track for most people (maybe not so much geocachers!) unless your heading up to the scouting den at the very end of the lane. I thought this cache might encourage others to venture up this way to enjoy the scenery, picnic area and wildlife.

On the way up you may find out why its called "Mutton lane" as frequently heards of sheep are brought up and down the lane. Just off the lane is an old courtyard with a refurbished cottage acting as an Irish craft cafe, a picnic area and farm animal petting area. During the day, people are free to use the courtyard, use the picnic area and pet/feed the animals. It's also a great place to start/end a hike to/from Tibradden mountain.

In order to find the cache you need to ventre through an animal walkway (so both you an the animals in the field are protected from each other!). There is a patrons only sign but the owner of the land is happy for Geocachers to search for the cache so don't worry about that!

Enjoy the walk and area! I have obtained permission from the owners to place the cache on their property and they are happy for people to venture around during the day (gates close at 5pm) so long as they respect the land as all good geocachers would.
